LCMC-2.0 (Leakage Current Monitoring Cabinet)

Operation of electrical networks and electrical equipment requires strict observance of tight safety measures. In order to prevent injuries and emergencies all generating and consuming equipment should be thoroughly grounded. For this purpose a special system is used in industrial, technical, residential and other buildings. The main component of thins system is the Main Earthing Bus (MEB).

The advantage of the LCMC-2.0 cabinets manufactured by ServisMontazhIntegratsiya LLC is not only the MEB functions performed by the cabinet, but the indication of leakage currents in digital ammeters installed on the cabinet front cover. This cabinet stands out among conventional MEB switchboards by giving the operating personnel the possibility to swiftly respond to equipment breakdowns thus preventing industrial accidents.

Key difference when connecting LCMC-2.0 is that all outgoing grounding lines to consumers pass through a current transformer and only then are connected to the earthing bus. Moreover, each consumer has its own ammeter and current transformer which provide complete visualization for operating personnel.

Material, characteristics and installation location of this element must strictly comply with PUE requirements, as well as other norms and standards.


Importance of Earthing

Earthing of live electrical networks and electrical installations is a must as this is the only way to guarantee protection of people against electric shock and prevent equipment failure. Earthing loop together with LCMC-2.0 reduces high voltage to safe values and ensures drainage of leakage currents to earth. Leakage currents occur on parts exposed to touch, due to short circuit to enclosure, breakdown of cable insulation or for other reasons. Build up of electrical potential on enclosure or in the power circuit is one of the reasons for the early failure of expensive equipment. Frequent breakdowns require costs for constant repairs and significantly reduce equipment service life.

LCMC-2.0 installation standards and requirements

LCMC-2.0 is used in TN-S, TN-C-S and IT earthing systems, ensuring trouble-free operation of electrical devices up to 1000 V, as well as power supply lines for various administrative buildings, apartment blocks and industrial facilities. Typical conditions for installation and operation of LCMC-2.0 cabinets:

  • Temperature range -10°C to +40°C;
  • Ambient air humidity max. 80% (optimal 30-50%);
  • No spontaneously combustible substances or aggressive environments nearby.
  • Installation method, material and minimum cross-section of the main earthing bus are defined by PUE 7th edition requirements, conditions of SP 437.1325800.2018, GOST R 50571.5.54-2013 and other regulatory documents.
  • Dimensions and Degree of protection (IP) are selected based on the required operating conditions.

LCMC-2.0 cabinets produced by ServisMontazhIntegratsiya LLC can be manufactured in a number of versions depending on the required number of connections and the enclosure degree of protection.
